Frequently Asked questions
About the Art
Is every piece genuinely hand-painted?
Yes. Every original is painted by hand on canvas in our studio. Each piece ships with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
Who is behind Mofisto?
Founded in 2006 by artists, provocateurs and creative strategists Shane Bowden and Tiam Whitfield, Mofisto is two decades of collaboration made official.
Between them they've worked across fine art, commercial projects, branding, and digital. They don't stay in one lane. They never have.
Mofisto is all of it, under one roof.
Are these limited editions or one-of-a-kind?
Every original painting is one of a kind. No two are exactly alike.
Limited edition prints are numbered and signed, with fixed edition sizes listed on each product page.
What makes Mofisto different from buying art at a gallery?
We sell directly to you. No gallery markup, no middleman, no 60% commission added to the price. The same quality of work that sells through galleries worldwide, shipped straight to your door.
Sizing and Dimensions
What sizes are available?
We currently offer three sizes across our originals:
Small: ideal for shelves, desks, and smaller wall spaces.
Large: the most popular size. Works as a focal point above a sofa, bed, or dining area.
Statement: a large-scale piece designed to anchor an entire room.
Exact dimensions are listed on each product page.
We do offer customisation, including size customisation. Just enquire.
How do I know which size is right for my space?
Measure your wall.
A good rule of thumb: the art should take up roughly two-thirds to three-quarters of the width of the furniture below it. If it's going above a sofa, the Large or Statement size usually works best. If you're filling a smaller nook or gallery wall, the Small is perfect.
But personally, the bigger the better for me. ☺︎
Can I request a custom size?
Absolutely. We take custom commissions of any kind. Different size, different subject, something completely unique for your space. Just email us at yours@mofisto.co and tell us what you're after. We'll work with you to make it happen.
Product Details
What materials are used?
Our originals are painted with high-quality acrylic on stretched or rolled canvas. The paint is durable, vibrant, and UV-resistant.
What is the difference between rolled and framed?
Rolled originals ship in a protective tube. You take them to your local framer and choose any frame style you like. This gives you full control over the final look and keeps the price lower. Framed originals (when available) arrive ready to hang.
How should I care for my painting?
Keep it out of direct sunlight for extended periods. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use water or cleaning products on the surface. Acrylic paint is durable but treat it like you would any fine artwork.
Shipping
Where do you ship?
We currently ship within the United States. International shipping may be offered in the future.
How much does shipping cost?
Free shipping on all rolled artworks. Stretched and framed pieces incur a shipping charge based on size and destination, displayed at checkout.
How long does delivery take?
Each piece is made to order. Here's the typical timeline from order to door:
Order confirmed: 24 hours
Your piece is hand-painted: 5-10 business days
Shipped to your door: 5-10 business days
Total: approximately 10-21 business days
These are hand-painted originals, not prints pulled from a shelf. Occasionally, things take a little longer to get right. We would rather take an extra day to make sure your piece is perfect than rush it out the door. If your order is taking longer than expected, we will keep you updated. We appreciate your patience.
Will I receive a tracking number?
Yes. You'll receive a tracking link by email the moment your piece is dispatched.
How is my painting packaged?
Rolled originals are carefully rolled (paint side out to prevent cracking) and shipped in a sturdy protective tube. Every package includes your signed Certificate of Authenticity and a care guide.
Returns and Guarantees
What is your return policy?
14-day satisfaction guarantee. Every original can be returned within 14 days of delivery, provided it is in its original rolled condition. Items that have been stretched, framed, mounted, or altered are not eligible. Buyer pays return shipping.
Email support@mofisto.co with your order number to start a return.
What if my painting arrives damaged?
Notify us within 7 days of delivery and we'll replace or refund at no cost. Send photos to support@mofisto.co and we'll sort it immediately.
What if I've already had it framed?
Once an original has been stretched, framed, or altered in any way, it is no longer eligible for return. We recommend living with the rolled canvas for a few days before committing to framing.
What is the Trade Up program?
After owning a Mofisto original for at least 12 months, you can return it to us and receive 30% of your purchase price as store credit. The credit applies toward any new original priced at or above your original purchase. We cover return shipping. It is our way of keeping your collection fresh without starting from scratch.
Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay. Afterpay and Klarna will be available soon for eligible orders.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. All transactions are processed through Shopify Payments, which uses industry-standard SSL encryption and PCI compliance. We never see or store your card details.
